Science roadshow Monday 19th March

Hi everyone,

Lorna D. is happy to make a booking for the Manawatu Home Educators Group to attend the Science RoadShow this year on Monday 19th March.

It is being held at Palmerston North Intermediate, Ferguson St.

It is most suited to years 5-9 or ages 8yr-13yr, however older and younger children are welcome to attend. If you are bringing preschoolers PLEASE ensure they are well supervised!

If you have never been to one before it is TOTALLY worth going (even if you are not very science oriented)!!

Session times available are:

1. 10:35-11:55
2. 12:30-13:50
3. 13:35-14:55

Please indicate your preferred time (although I can’t guarantee it until booking due to limited numbers in each session). I will be booking one session time only based on the most preferred time by those wishing to go.

The Roadshow has a new programme for 2012 including two new demonstrations:

  • Spectacular Changes : a look a physical and chemical changes
  • The Hidden World : focusing on aspects of the world that cannot be seen without the aid of special equipment

In addition there will be a range of over 60 interactive exhibits under the themes of:

  • Astronomy
  • The Human Body
  • Earth Science
  • Farming
  • Forces
  • Light

The programme is a 1 hour 20 minutes session.

Admission is MHE members $7.00 per school-aged student, non-members $8.00 per student, with teachers and parent help free.

Please contact Lorna D. (see our CONTACT page) to register your interest. I will need numbers by Wednesday 15th Feb in order to make the booking.

You can check out their website www.roadshow.org for more info.

Thanks, Lorna.
