Artist Katrina Pereka is kindly offering to give us another lot of drawing lessons. They will be pencil and paper only (no other mediums/media eg: paint).

This time the plan is to have 4 sessions. Each session will be focusing on one particular style of drawing. After some teaching we then aim to complete one drawing.

The four lessons will be on landscapes, portrait/body, buildings, and another style. There will be time after the lesson if you wish to ask Katrina for some further advice.

Please arrive on time so we can maximise the time avaliable to us.

The cost depends on the number of people participating, but it will be very
reasonable. Maximum number of attendees: depends but probably around 15.

***WHO IS IT FOR AND WHAT TO EXPECT***
This is an opportunity for any children and young people to attend, who would enjoy sharing their writing or would just like to hear what others have written about. They can bring a piece of writing, short story, poem, report etc or an object/something special or interesting that they would like to show and tell’ about.

We aim to have children in small groups so they feel comfortable sharing. They will be split into groups 2-3 groups of similarly aged peers. The groupings are a guide only and parents are welcome to put their children where they feel they will fit best. Children are encouraged to give positive and constructive feedback to each other, the younger groups will normally have an adult to help facilitate this. The older / high- school group however, may or may not have an adult present and will depend on the availability of the parents on the day.

This is a fun social morning for parents and children to hang out, get to know each other better and it is also the perfect time to bring back old library books and get out new ones. There is a playground outside and a large field for children to play on.

Library Health and Safety Guidelines:
Parents please make sure that you and your children know the following. The Library have asked that there is no running inside and that scooters are put outside the main doors.

Leave the Place Tidy
As each family leaves please make sure that any toys or puzzles your children have played with areput away. Furniture is left arranged nicely and any books your family has taken o the shelves are put in a pile on the librarian’s desk. They do not need to all be re-shelved (but you can if you like) – the Library does like to count the number of books used for their statistical purposes – even if not issued. If we all remember to tidy a bit when we leave there won’t be such a big job at the end.

Sharing Table
The library has a sharing table that you are welcome to use. You may have books you don’t want any more that you would like to share/give away, sometimes there is even fruit and vegetables. Please note that if you put your personal belongings near the sharing table someone might think you are giving your things away!

Kitchen Facilities
Parents are welcome to use the kitchen facilities and make themselves a cup of tea or co ee. There is also a microwave available for those that want to warm up their lunch.

Guidelines for Writing Group
We are a varied group of families and it is expected that parents will check the appropriateness of their child’s writing – it is important that we accept that content that may be acceptable to some families may not be acceptable to other families.

All listeners can respectfully withdraw themselves if they don’t feel comfortable with what is being read/discussed. Parents are welcome to listen to stories being read and to discuss with their children what they have been listening to. All feedback should attempt to be constructive and be shared in a manner that is polite and positive (the younger groups will have a parent that will help facilitate this).

A good indoor sport option for the winter term. The kids have enjoyed these last term and gained a lot of skills in ball handling as the weeks went on. 10 participants are required for this activity to go ahead at a cost of $50 each for the term. For each additional child the cost will decrease. (last term it went down to $34 each)

This term we will continue with lessons building on what we learned last term. If you are new to ukulele then it would be helpful if you can come already being able to play C, F, Am, D and G. This way you can slot in with where everyone else is at.

Parents are welcome to join in.

You will need to provide your own ukulele.

***WHO IS IT FOR AND WHAT TO EXPECT***
This is an opportunity for any children and young people to attend, who would enjoy sharing their writing or would just like to hear what others have written about. They can bring a piece of writing, short story, poem, report etc or an object/something special or interesting that they would like to show and tell’ about.

We aim to have children in small groups so they feel comfortable sharing. They will be split into groups 2-3 groups of similarly aged peers. The groupings are a guide only and parents are welcome to put their children where they feel they will fit best. Children are encouraged to give positive and constructive feedback to each other, the younger groups will normally have an adult to help facilitate this. The older / high- school group however, may or may not have an adult present and will depend on the availability of the parents on the day.

This is a fun social morning for parents and children to hang out, get to know each other better and it is also the perfect time to bring back old library books and get out new ones. There is a playground outside and a large field for children to play on.

Library Health and Safety Guidelines:
Parents please make sure that you and your children know the following. The Library have asked that there is no running inside and that scooters are put outside the main doors.

Leave the Place Tidy
As each family leaves please make sure that any toys or puzzles your children have played with areput away. Furniture is left arranged nicely and any books your family has taken o the shelves are put in a pile on the librarian’s desk. They do not need to all be re-shelved (but you can if you like) – the Library does like to count the number of books used for their statistical purposes – even if not issued. If we all remember to tidy a bit when we leave there won’t be such a big job at the end.

Sharing Table
The library has a sharing table that you are welcome to use. You may have books you don’t want any more that you would like to share/give away, sometimes there is even fruit and vegetables. Please note that if you put your personal belongings near the sharing table someone might think you are giving your things away!

Kitchen Facilities
Parents are welcome to use the kitchen facilities and make themselves a cup of tea or co ee. There is also a microwave available for those that want to warm up their lunch.

Guidelines for Writing Group
We are a varied group of families and it is expected that parents will check the appropriateness of their child’s writing – it is important that we accept that content that may be acceptable to some families may not be acceptable to other families.

All listeners can respectfully withdraw themselves if they don’t feel comfortable with what is being read/discussed. Parents are welcome to listen to stories being read and to discuss with their children what they have been listening to. All feedback should attempt to be constructive and be shared in a manner that is polite and positive (the younger groups will have a parent that will help facilitate this).

VISITORS ON THE DAY:
If you want to visit on the day and check out all the exhibits, come along and join us – you are very welcome! The Exhibit Viewing time is 12:00pm-1:00pm. Otherwise, there will be a brief exhibit viewing time between 3:00pm-3:30pm (after prizegiving prior to exhibits being dismantled/taken).

Children (not exhibiting in the show) participating in the activities are asked to contribute a Gold Coin donation. Arrive anytime after 10:00am.
