Thursday 4TH August 2pm
At the farm of John and Wendy, watch calves being fed, cows being milked, drink fresh milk! Maybe see a calf being born!
Please wear old clothes and gumboots as it will be muddy.
Remember, this is a working farm with 700 cows and big machinery so parents must watch their children at all times.
Directions from Palmerston North:
Either: travel out Pioneer Highway towards Longburn, turn right into Rongotea Rd and follow up and over the rail overbridge, past the No.1 Line intersection…
Or: travel out Tremaine Ave/No.1 Line to the Rongotea Rd intersection and turn right…
Travel about approx another 1 km. Turn into tanker track on right, road number 1723 Rongotea Rd, Fonterra number 45574 (if you get to the Kairanga School, you’ve gone too far). Long driveway to cowshed and calf sheds. Park on the left hand side of the cowshed.
If you live on the other side of town, you could come out Milson Line or Rangitikei Line, turn left into Kairanga Bunnythorpe Rd. Travel until you get to the Kairanga School.
Turn left into Rongotea Rd. First driveway on your left (about 1km from school) is the tanker driveway, directions as above. The farm is only 5-10 minutes from the town boundary, so it is not far to travel.
Let me know you are coming please so Wendy knows how many will be there.
